Osama bin Laden wanted oil at $144 a barrel

Bush gave Osama Bin Laden more then he ever hoped for. How many are aware that Osama wanted the price of oil to sky rocket?

From the U.S. imperialist viewpoint, "chaos" means loss of the Saudi oil fields. Bin Laden admits that they are the ultimate prize he hopes to win for his faction of bosses. In a 1998 interview, he "claimed that the United States has carried out `the biggest theft in history' by buying oil from Persian Gulf countries at low prices. According to bin Laden, a barrel of oil today should cost $144. Based on that calculation, he said, the Americans have stolen $36 trillion from Muslims..." (Associated Press, 9/28)

'If bin Laden takes over and becomes king of Saudi Arabia, he'd turn off the tap,'' said Roger Diwan, a managing director of the Petroleum Finance Company, a consulting firm in Washington. ''He said at one point that he wants oil to be $144 a barrel'' -- about six times what it sells for now.

So Osama achieved what he wanted

Oil prices neared $146 a barrel Thursday for the first time ever on reports of declining U.S. stockpiles and the threat of conflict with Iran.

Bush has helped in this goal.

Oh really John McCain?

He also said al Qaeda has found it "easy for us to provoke and bait this administration."

"All that we have to do is to send two mujahedeen to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al Qaeda, in order to make generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic and political losses without their achieving anything of note other than some benefits for their private corporations," bin Laden said.

Then there is this.

"Every dollar of al Qaeda defeated a million dollars, by the permission of Allah, besides the loss of a huge number of jobs," he said. "As for the economic deficit, it has reached record astronomical numbers estimated to total more than a trillion dollars.

The total U.S. national debt is more than $7 trillion. The U.S. federal deficit was $413 billion in 2004, according to the Treasury Department.

Happy 4th of july weekend traveling back and forward. Remember Osama is laughing at us as we pay $144 a barrel for oil!

Not only is Osama laughing, but so is George Bush and Dick CHeney and that fat faced retired CEO of EXXON.  Laughing while we have 'concern' over our candidate's swerves and work out how to heal the wounds of our primary.

We should be collectively rising up and figuratively smacking Bush / Cheney and the CEO types silly and dealing with Osama more effectively than Bush did (as in not at all).

Hell's bells, even the GOP didn't have to crucify Eisenhower's record in order to make Reagan their 'saint'. We can have two great ones, you know?

Re: Osama bin Laden wanted oil at $144 a barrel (2.00 / 1)

The irony of it all is too much. Bush royally fucked us and now people are actually considering voting for his twin, McCain.

[its not even worth a good laugh at this point-]

Yes. I can never figure out why people have not understood that bush is the best thing that ever happened to Osama bin Ladin and Al Qaeda.

Osama bin Laden wanted oil at $144 a barrel (2.00 / 1)

US mired in Afghanistan.
Us mired in Iraq.
US mired in Iran?

And crippling energy prices.

As far as Bush/Cheney/McSame are concerned, whatever Uncle Osama wants, Uncle Osama gets.

Hopefully we'll have the good ense after Obama is elected  to use the billions trillions being wasted in pointless military adventures to move into a clean and renewable energy future.

I absolutely agree. Just think where we would be if someone like you had been the energy secretary for the past eight years.

if someone like you had been the energy secretary (2.00 / 2)

Instead of ethanol subsidies, farmers in the midwest would be getting subsidies to install one wind generator per acre, and the power grid to transport the electricity would be completed.

Auto companies would have been subsidized to provide every kind of green car any consumer could want.

Airline and diesel fuel for transporting people and goods would come from coal.

Every home in the sunbelt would have solar water heating and electric generators. And every possible home elsewhere would be insulated and converted to electric or hot water heating with natural gas. As well, all new homes would be required to be green.

The few remaining coal fired electric plants would employ CO2 capturing technology.

And how much would this SOCIALIZED energy program cost? Probably less than half of being in Iraq so far.

BIG mistake! (none / 0)

I'm fit serve on political blogs, but not in public office.

If elected, my first act would be to impeach myself.

Re: Osama bin Laden wanted oil at $144 a barrel (2.00 / 1)

Say what you want to about bin Laden, but that slimy murderous bastard ran played this entire administration for fools.  And he was right.  Bush was exactly the kind of fool that bin Laden was counting on him to be.

In light of this, I honestly don't see how anyone could consider supporting McCain, who just wants to continue doing exactly what our enemies want us to do.  I truly don't get that.

We can do our part to help remind the people (none / 0)

Let them know the truth. We can all do that.

Re: Osama bin Laden wanted oil at $144 a barrel (none / 0)

I guess when oil hits $198 a barrel, then Osama will have achieved his dream. After calculating for inflation, that's what a barrel of oil would have to sell for in 2008.
